Online free Training Conference: Agro-food waste valorization as a source of valuable biochemicals in circular economy: a reality
Conferencia
Enlace externo:
In the framework of BARBARA project, this online training conference will provide a platform to meet companies and researchers interested in the application of circular economy for the valorization of agro-food wastes. The potential of MW and rapid antimicrobial techniques will be shown by Milestone and Metrohm Hispania.
BARBARA Project
BIOPOLYMERS WITH ADVANCED FUNCTIONALITIES FOR BUILDING
AND AUTOMOTIVE PARTS PROCESSED THROUGH ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
The BARBARA project aims to develop new bio-based materials with innovative functionalities through fused filament fabrication (3D-printing). Food waste and agricultural by-products will be used to purify pigments, fragrances, reinforcing agents or biocide compounds, which will be incorporated into engineered bioplastics derived from corn processing industries. These new materials will be transformed into prototypes with customized porperties (mechanical and thermal resistance, surface or colour appearance, fragrance release or self-sanitizing surfaces) to be validated for their use in two highly demanding sectors such as the construction and automotive industry.
The main results obtained in BARBARA project will be presented as a successful example of valorization and final industrial application.
